2020 Rabbit Rescue Stories

Updated: Jan 18, 2022

As we all know, dating was more difficult in 2020, even for rabbits, but Daphne got a second chance at love. Daphne came into foster care back in the spring of 2019 and was chosen to be the partner for multiple rabbits. None of those bondings worked…until she met Lance. Now, she has a forever home with him and his family.

Poppy’s life was saved from liver torsion, a typically fatal condition, by the keen observation and quick action of her foster mom and the skill of our veterinary partners at Chadwell Animal Hospital. She survived her operation and was adopted by experienced rabbit people (and HRS members!), Pat and Tom Ford, who opened their heart to her after losing their dear bun Oreo at the amazing age of 15.

Thanks to our generous donors, Poppy and our other foster buns have the chance to live a long and well-loved life.

We rely on YOU, our faithful supporters, to save these rabbits.

You donations provide veterinary care and food, litter, and toys for our foster rabbits. You volunteer your time and give space in your homes to foster rabbits!

Most importantly, you provide loving homes to the rabbits who share your lives. This year we relied on their companionship more than ever. A gift to help our foster rabbits honors that relationship and spreads that joy to others.
