Our thoughts are with Kathleen Wilsbach, our Chapter Manager, today after she lost her beloved rabbit, Palmer. His form from the Baltimore Humane Society from 10/31/97 says he was 2 years old. That would have made him just a couple of months shy of 16 years old.

Times are tough. People are cutting back on adoptions and donations. Rabbits are being returned at an all time high. In spite of this HRS MD/DC/NoVA was still able to take in 85 rabbits in need and adopted out 50 rabbits to loving homes in 2010.

HRS was contacted by the Animal Welfare League of Arlington that they had a pregnant rabbit about to give birth on January 22, 2010. A foster home was found, and the fosterer picked up the mother rabbit and her 8 kits on January 23.
